From Sea to Summit: Shakil proudly achieved 3 World Records with PRAN.

Ikramul Hasan Shakil hoisted the flag of Bangladesh on the Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, after walking all the way from Cox’s Bazar. He reached the summit at 6:30 am Nepal time on Monday, 19 May.

Shakil’s Nepali travel agency 8K Expeditions confirmed the news to Prothom Alo.

In the meantime, expedition coordinators said in a post on Ikramul Hasan’s Facebook page at 2:10 pm today, “We just received news that Shakil has summited and is in good health. He has descended to Camp 4. Details is unavailable at the moment due to network issues.”

 

Pran-RFL to revive Rajshahi Textile Mill

Pran-RFL Group is set to revive the long-defunct Rajshahi Textile Mill and transform it into "Barendra Rajshahi Textile Ltd" under Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation (BTMC) through a public-private partnership.

The group has already begun trial production on the 26-acre site and plans to fully operationalise the facility within two years, investing around Tk 350 crore.

The plant will focus on fully export-oriented production of bags, shoes, and garments, and will also house a modern call centre.

The two-day event organised by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) and powered by PDS Limited, in association with City Bank and KDS Group, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida), drew a total of 1,500 visitors from across Europe. 

In the event, a fashion runway was organised where the capability of Bangladesh's apparel industry in innovation, sustainability, and product design and development was showcased. 

Pran-RFL to produce solar power for RMG industry

Pran-RFL Group, in collaboration with H&M Group and International Finance Corporation (IFC), has announced plans to generate solar power for the apparel sector, marking a significant step towards promoting sustainability within the country's vital RMG industry.

The clean electricity will be purchased by Bangladeshi garment suppliers serving the globally renowned Swedish brand Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), according to an official Facebook post by the Chief Adviser GOB today.
